i cant see how you can cut 4 hours down to one hour --only way i can think of is to pause the recording software then fast forward by parts you dont want to record then restart the recording--this would be fiddly and time consuming

you can only capture the video as fast as the vcr/vhs player plays it--so a 4 hour tape would have to play for 4 hours--then edit out parts you dont want to get 1 hour of video left

its not like tape to tape recording where both tape decks can go at a higher synchronised speed to record a one hour tape in 30 minutes

once its captured then with a fast pc you can edit and convert at much higher speed

also power director 7 is old software--they are at version 10 now

have you been shopping in lidl by any chance?
