Alright, my computer is all f*&ked up. I need to make a boot disk so i can format my hard drive and install windows. The little startup disk program in the ad/remove programs doesn't work, so i have to do it manually, and of course have forgotten how. I also want to be able to use my cd-rom when i boot up from the floppy. Any sggestions would be great!!
thanks

Put a floppy in the A:, go to a DOS prompt and type 'format a: /s'. This won't put CD-rom drivers on the disk though, so if you need them you will have to do that manually. Also, this will not work on WinMe beacuse MS disabled it.

If you walk into a computer store, I'm pretty sure they would make a boot disk for you free of charge.

If your using Win98SE, you don't need a boot floppy-just set your Bios to boot from CD first, then at the promt select boot with cd-rom support, then change to E:, then format and run setup. You might have to type in CD WIN98 if you want to run FDISK.
