I know this is probably the most annoying and subjective question ever,
but if you could offer an opinion i would be much obliged.
i have money and the most i can afford is either of the above monitors.
now i know the genelec's are very well known and i read different
opinions of them, the adam's are not as common but if you have
experience with both and could offer advice that would be great. i
can't get to listen to any cause of where i am (i will be buying over
the internet) and i want to order on monday.
cheers guys, have a good weekend!
Hugh.

Stu,

I think I've seen you here on RAP once before and may have commented but I
need to say again that I think you are awesome and have always enjoyed your
drumming ( especially on Watercourse Way! any chance of the original mix of
that being released on CD??? ;-)

Take care!

Hugh,
I don't have any experience with the Genelecs, but I do have a pair of ADAM
P11As. They were recommended to me by Harry Andronis, who I worked with
when he was co-producer/engineer on many Shadowfax records & tours. Harry's
also worked with Zappa, Tracy Chapman, Natalie Cole and P.J. Harvey. I've
been very happy with the P11As.

Doesn't matter. Buying ANYTHING without listening is just flushing money
down the toilet. Buy whatever you want.

I tested (did a blind AB listening test and measured the performance)
the Genelec 1030A, AdamP11 and Geithain RL906.

The Genelec was a disappointment; amongst other drawbacks the music
sounded like it was coming out of a box (which it actually does of
course).

The choice between the Adam and the Geithain was thougher. Actually,
they sounded a bit alike. I really liked the P11A (great value for
money) but decided for the odd-looking Geithain in the end.

Hope this is some help.

Isn't the top end on the Geithein nice? It's so much smoother than the
Adams, which surprised me.
