Newbie question on Bandwidth

Hi All,

I have 1.5Gb (3 sticks) of P133 SDRAM memory in my I405L Jetway Motherboard.

When I run SISOFT memory Bencmark, I am seeing both

639MB/S for both INT and Float results.

Does this seem about right for my PC, and if not what can I do/check to improve this speed ?

PC is running Windows XP Pro, 2.5Ghz CPU, and a Wildcat VP560 graphics card. FSB is 400

SiSOFT is stating that I am getting 60% efficency, which seems low

I think you have an older version of SiSoft Sandra. PC133 should have a bandwidth close to 1000 MB/sec. I get about 1130 MB/sec with PC150 memory.

Compare the results with the ones that come with Sisift sandra. Your's is good enough though. A bit less i think.

HI phsstpok,

This is the problem. SISOFT reports that my bandwidth should be 1000MB/s however is tells me that it is only 60% efficiant. , ie 640m/s.

Is there anything I can do to improve my bandwidth efficiency ?

Yeah most chipsets run below the theoretical value, it's to be expected...
