I've been looking at the Sanyo 7400. It seems like a nice phone and
Costco has a good price for the phone/accessory bundle, but I have
some questions about it.

1) The Sprint rep told me that the charging cable and data cable don't
fit into the 7400 at the same time. I've seen various Internet sites
that sell a USB cable which also charges the phone, while other
websites indicate that these charging cables are not FCC-approved and
will destory the phone. Any insight into who is correct?

2) The 7400 is pretty new. I've found a few articles on the Internet
indicating that the 7400 does not work the greatest with BitPim, and
FutureDial does not yet have this phone in their compatibility list.
Any comments on software compatibility?

3) Does anybody have an email address for Sprint retention? I'd like
to create a paper trail for any offer they may give me.

Thanks!!

Well, if it were yours truly, if the dual charging / USB cable isn't FCC
approved, I'd stay away from it. Why take the chance of frying your phone?

It's a new phone, so I'm guessing they are still working out the coding on
both ends.

I don't believe there is a separate email address to the retention dept.
When I have found the need to email SPCS from their site, I get a reply back
from them via email, with return address of Sprint Customer Solutions
[ecare3@cc.sprintpcs.com]. I don't believe though that a direct initial
email address will get a reply, unless there is a case number included in
the subject header.

Oh, I don't know how good Bit Pim is. Seems like every version after 7.15
won't work with my 5300. I've tried them all, and had to unistall it, and
then reinstall 7.15 to do any syncing with the phone book.

I read a bunch of articles over there. The consensus of the ones that
I've read seems to be that there is a bad batch of phones with a "call
faded" issue, and that Sprint is aware of it. Many folks seem to be
very pleased with the 7400 right out of the box, or once they get
their defective phone replaced.
