Voicemail alert reminder feature: Sanyo 8200 or Samsung 680?

My old Samsung had a single alert chime that alerted every 2 minutes or
so when a new voicemail was received that I was not aware of. Does
either the Samsung a680 or the Sanyo 8200 do this?
Thanks for your help.

On my A680 with firmware XC27, Menu-3-6-4-3 is a Voicemail reminder, and
can be set to "Off", "Once", or "Every 2 minutes".

When set to "Every 2 minutes", if I don't touch it, it rings, and then
the red light to the right of the camera lens flashes quickly for a
minute, and then slowly for the second minute. At 2, 4, 6, and 8
minutes, the phone makes a 3-beep sound (not my selected voicemail ring
sound), then the light continues to blink slowly. That's as long as I
waited while writing this message.

I love my new 8200 it does alot of things, even with voicmail, whether you
want a ring, chirp or whatever you can set it to repeat once or twice, I
notice the light continues to flash though, small LCD red light. Nice
phone, Im happy I went from the Treo 600 to the Sanyon 8200. Very Happy.

Thanks for both of your feedback.

It appears the samsung, with its drawn out reminders of 2,6,&8 mins,
has the system I like.
I'm not so clear about this, but does the sanyo also have this
same/similar system, or does it only give an alert sound twice?

Further testing - my Samsung A680 keeps sounding its 3 little beeps
every 2 minutes for about an hour.

On my wife's Sanyo 8100 (not 8200), you can set
Menu-Settings-Sounds-Alerts-Voicemail: Once/Repeat/Off
When set to repeat, it sounds the same ringer that you've selected for
Voicemail every 2 minutes, and it blinks its light slowly. I only
listened for 10 minutes (5 repeats) before I opened the phone and
stopped it. I don't know how long it might have repeated, nor if the
8200 is the same. The PDF version of the 8200's manual doesn't document
the menu structure deeper than "Alerts".

James -
I looked at an 8200 for you in a SPCS store that I walked past today.
The 8200 has the same Voicemail: Once/Repeat/Off menu setting as the
8100. One might assume it behaves the same way.
