9700 pro direct3D problem

i have just had a system built amd 2400 oc to (2.26)SANDRA 03 says it's still stable burn in for 35 times no errors
512 ddr mushkin
80 gig 8mb western digital
9700 pro
asus a7n8x deluxe
prof 2000

and when i launch a game i have tried this with every game i own(combat filgh simulator 2, age of empires 2 and the expansion and other farly new games) the game crashes to the menu bar
i ran dxdaig and direct draw tests fine but when i test direct 3D it says i canceled the test by pressing a key(i have not) i has doet this every time i try

i have direct x 9.0 and the newset drivers for my 9700 pro
i have uninstaled and reinstaled the drivers about 10 times no with no effect

ANY HELP?
