Hi All,

I just bought this for my system. It couldn't read the CD-R and kept asking to insert CD-RW insteads (actually, it did not take the installation of Nero-burning ROM, even though I tried to uninstalled the device many times ). I just about to reinstall the OS, but because of the laziness with lack of time that prevent me to doing it.
Any help would be appreciated!

My system:

GA-8SQ800
CORSAIR DDR400 CAS 2.5 512MB (just 1 stick only)
P4 2.4GHz 533MHz
SAPHIRE ATI RADEON 9500 PRO 128MB, OEM

hmmm. Is it just data cd's it doesnt like? how about gold or green ones... or audio CD's.

If its not recognising CD's then it may be a driver conflict, have dirty optics (yes it can happen to new drives) or you may just have been unlucky and got a bad drive

Hi LHGPooBaa,

It could read any CDs, excepted CD-R (before recorded or formated)
So, that meant I got a bad drive?
