Hey, i'm getting ready to bulid myself a new sytem. I want 1gb of ram and was wondering if i should get 1 stick of 1gb or 2 sticks of 512. I want to get 1gb of pc2700 ram, i'm also brobably going to buy from Corsair and get the xms. Another question is... I'm not going to be overclocking so i was wondering which ram i should get in the pc2700 corsair xms field. FYI--- i'll be using an A7N8X mobo. thanks!

I picked up the Twin 1024-3200LL from Googlegear for my A7N8x, and I love it. I had it up to 214.5 Mhz (DDR429) the other day without a hitch. DDR400 might not necessarily give you a huge boost over DDR333 for now, but if AMD released a 400Mhz FSB proccessor........

nForce2 = two sticks of RAM. This is the way to go. nForce2 on single-channel DDR could be easily outperformed by KT400A or even KT333/KT400 in some benchmark. So what the point you spend your money on nForce2 but not utilise its dual-channel DDR potential?
As for the type of RAM, that depends on your CPU. Now if you want to upgrade to the upcoming 400FSB Athlon XP you should get PC3200. But if you are waiting for AMD64 or others then there is not big difference if you ain't going to overclock. But Corsair PC3200 is a sweet thing I must say, if only I've got enough cash to buy two (yeah, for my A7N8X Deluxe).

You never know how stupid you are until you have done something stupid enough for you to realize it.

Of course get 2 sticks of memory. Nforce 2 mobos are much faster on 2 sticks, and don't like running at all on one stick.

eBay, kick ass!
