Usually I send someone to SourceForge.net to look for remake projects. This
is twice in the same day that I have been surprised. In another newsgroup a
guy posted that he wanted a remake of "RoadWar 2000" (which I totally agree
with) and it wasnt there either.

Did you get the 3D addon for Red Baron 2? It was a long time ago, but I
remember it fixing a lot of issues - not just the graphics. If nothing else,
multi-player support was a welcome addition.

Personally, I always preferred Wings. What it lacked in realism, it made up
for in that perfect Biggles-like feeling. It's a shame Cinemaware canned the
Remastered version.

Sometimes the game gets a remake but under a different name so you have to
dig a bit deeper

example : http://triplea.sourceforge.net/

Triple A - stands for Advanced Axis & Allies ...

Yes, but the dgVoodoo Glide wrapper supposedly works well with Red Baron 3D.
Should that fail, modern hardware has made software rendering a feasible
alternative.

Anyway, the graphics fixes were just part of the patch. The other fixes
brought the game close to the quality of Red Baron 1, or as least as close
as I would expect any remake to get. It could be worth a try at least, if
you still have Red Baron 2 lying around.

I wish I could be more specific, but I haven't played either version since
1999 or so.
