We can't get our Alesis to lock to the Apogee's clock when smuxing
(multiple lightpipe) at 88.2 or 96. This combo works great at 44 and 48
but when we set it up for high res, the Alesis samplerate light blinks,
indicating a lack of clock and it does't accept audio. Reps at both
companies point to possible inconsistancies in the other companies
implementation of the s/mux protocol.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind....Within about an hour of my post, Robert Ray from Alesis
called (had to look my number up online) and had a workable solution
for me. Needless to say I am happy to have my system running and BLOWN
AWAY by Alesis' customer service. Wow.

What does Alesis say about this? Maybe it doesn't work. I would be
suspicious. How about using external word clock synchronization? Does
one have a clock input and the other a clock output?

That's the way it works. S/Mux is a convention, not a standard
published by one of the industry standard organizations, so there
could indeed be quirks.

And that was? Aren't you going to share it with us? Or do they want
everybody who has the same problem to post it on the net so they can
look them up and tell them the secret?
