dude i'm getting 62421KB/s! Or roughly 62MB/s!!!! A SCSI U320 (15KRPM, 8MB cache 147GB(BTFS,WinXP] gets only 46960KB/s or roughly 46MB/s!!!
i bet the lower scores i got before which were 26MB/s was because one drive was on channel 1 master and the other was on channel 4 slave. i bet that was the problem. Now i got the raid drive on channel 1 and 2 both master and the boot drive on channel 3 as my boot drive. I had problems installing windows so i just kept this drive there *shrugs*. It would be more stable.
Cool idea though. Normal drive as windows XP boot drive and then a RAID data drive for all my data, movies and stuff.
ha, this drive is faster then SCSI! boo'ya! scsi sucks hahahahahaha ... oh wait the SCSI drive isn't in raid heh! still cool though!

My raid "0" 4 x wd1200JB's does about 66MB/s and the cache speeds are out of this world. However my 2 IBM U160 SCSI drives do about 55MB/s approxiamately but if I could measure the disk 2 disk speed accross the scsi controller card I am sure the 62MB/s would look quite miniscule.
Problem is the PCI bus is the limiting factor on my motherboard, anyway, try comparring a SCSI raid setup to be fair.
i know i know "sisoft sandra - sythetic becnhmark - who cares" lol. but i was just happy to see high numbers lol! The last raid i put together the highest number i got with this version was 46. to see 66 is pretty sweet to me anyway.
*shrugs* ... lol!
