Starforce or not to Starforce - you decide

I was thinking about SH III but now forget about it; no Starforce malware on my computer.
I had my experiences with Heroes of WW2 and there is no way in hell I will install anything ever
again that uses Starforce. Lock-On 1.1 could be also released with Starforce - I hope not or
I will have to pass on it as well...

Not always. I have bought "Superpower 2" one month and half ago (so, sue me,
I do like to play Tom Clancy) and I'm still unable to make it run on my
system. I tried cracks, Starforce removers, Daemon Tools, disabling optical
drives and God knows what else, and I still have two coasters to play with.

I learned more about how to crack a game during this adventure than in the
rest of my gaming life, and *still* I haven't seen the intro screen of SP2

Brilliant, eh? They "protected" it so well that a legitimate buyer
can't play. I wonder if it occurs to the morons who paid for
"Starforce" that they could have achieved precisely the same result for
free, simply by sticking the CD in a microwave for a few minutes.

"Little more than three years after US forces, backed by their faithful
British allies, set foot in Afghanistan, the entire historical dynamic
of this blighted region has already shifted.

Ignoring, fortunately, the assault from clever world opinion on
America=3Fs motives, its credibility and its ambitions, the Bush
Administration set out not only to eliminate immediate threats
but also to remake the Middle East."
