OK after last years mess with sprint and denied rebates. I find that in the
entire east of arkansas I have no coverage. As well as Tunica Mississippi.
I can't believe no coverage there.
Well its time to try Cingular and see if I get better service.

BUT IF After the next year I want to return to sprint do I become a first time
customer or a returning customer or a SOB lol

What would I qualify for in the way of phones and plans....same old same old
or deals or what?

When I have coverage I have good service but it seems that most of my state
(Arkansas) is 2 major highways and that is it.
When traveling with friends, one has altel the other cingular... I drop out and
they are still talking. By the way we got to Eastern arkansas and I could not
even get a connect roaming, both of them strong signal...(this was confirmed
with an 8100 and a new 2500) so it was not just one weak phone, but maybe 2.
roaming and no signal...this doesn't make since...when I am sitting in the car
with the other 2 carriers and they were not roaming.

ok back to my question...sprint returning customer...ok to come back?

how is sprint on number transfers, I have read some stories on how they take
longer to release your number than any other carrier...still this way?

thanks for reading this long post

Maybe you will find better coverage with Cigular in those areas above.

I can't answer for sure, but I'm betting that you would be considered a new
customer, as long as your prior account is all cleared up. There are two
more questions to ask.

1) Depending on what you do with Cingular to get the best deal, can you only
get a one year commitment, or will it cost you two years?

2) If you are leaving SPCS because of inadequate coverage in those areas
above, why would you consider coming back to SPCS?

Have you ever considered adding the F & CA option to your plan?

As a new customer, you'd get all the benefits of a new customer. As for the
same "old" deals, no, not the same old deals. Only what SPCS would be
offering at the time.

Sure, but I ask again, why would you, if you find the coverage doesn't fit
your needs right now?

What you heard is bullwhacky. It shouldn't take more than 3 or so hours to
port your number as long as you provide all the correct information to
initiate the porting.. The new carrier, who ever you select should do the
port transfer. You should provide them a copy of your current SPCS bill,
showing all the account information.

Have you ever considered adding the F & CA option to your plan?

What is this, the $5 a month roaming plan?
Cingular gives free roaming.

==========================================

I have only had sprint for 5 yrs now. IF I don't like Cingular or they try all
the fun things I have read in their conference...like new rates being higher
since the at&t takeover and they don't have the coverage I need I will go back.

My co has a one year plan with them.
NO WAY I am signing for 2 yrs with anyone.

My sprint 1 yr contract for the new phones with rebates that were cancelled ends
this month.

(YES I am pissed about the rebates, purchased 2 8100's....whoops one box no
phone...so get a 2500....your 8100 rebate nope you got a 2500...no rebate
wait I have a 2500 rebate..yes but you purchased an 8100
wait the store didn't have but one. ok but that is the rebate we show you
purchased an 8100...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
yes it was rung up as 2 8100's .....with rebate...only one phone....so they gave
me a 2500....what about the 2500 rebate? you don't qualify since the phone was
NOT 18 months old.....how can I qualify for an empty box not being 18 months
old...the phone I am trading in is 2 yrs old...yes but the 8100 you purchased
was 1 day old, no lady it was 1 minute old...they could not find the phone so I
got the only phone they had with rebate the 2500...
SO the $110 rebate came to $50....what a rip
you can't win with sprint...what a bunch of a##hole loosers.
That was what I was screaming when I left the store

Have you tried contacting Sprint and reporting the coverage problem that you
are experiencing? Does Sprint claim to have coverage in the area that you
are having a problem? (either native Sprint coverage or roaming coverage).

When I contacted sprint about the big casinos in mississippi not having
coverage. their response was we have 2 towers in that area..one is right by the
airport.
BUT
we don't reach any of the motels on the northern areas.

other coverage...the only thing I could get from them was see the map on the web
site.

Is it possible that you phone should be functioning in roaming mode? Is the
phone set to automatic roaming rather than sprint-only? It seems to me that
there should be roaming on another network in that area if it is not
possible to receive a Sprint signal. Does anyone else have any idea what may
be happening here?
