Unable to Parse Server Info

I have recently been playing Day Of Defeat (halflife mod/
Steam). Everything worked until today. The update went
through fine it seemed. I start up the game. It crashes
on connecting to any server right when the connection box
says Parsing Server Info. I checked Steampowered.com
first which explained that in this incident i should look
at it being a router problem. So i simple bypassed my
router and connected directly and still the same crash.
It may be as simple as a messed up update with steam. But
ive never encountered this problem and i figure it might
be something I missed. Please help me if you have
knowledge on this subject.
