Why does it appear that the GSM phones are so much smaller and stylish than
the equivalent CDMA phone offerings? It the answer simply that the majority
of the world is GSM and therefore the cell phone manufacturers produce much
more variety in GSM phone offerings?

I would frame the question more like: why do GSM manufacturers insist on
dumping the market with cheap quality overpriced toys that try to
incorporate everything, and thus do nothing well?
