Ok this is my first post so bare with me.
I have bought a Asus P4G8X Deluxe motherboard and when looking at the specs i find its only ddr 2100 compatible.D:
Now im sure this has something to do with it being a dual ddr board but im not sure, can someone enlighten me please?
Also if i was to buy some Corsair 512MB DDR XMS2700LL though this should work still, do i have to overclock to get the most out of the ram? btw this is just one stick does dual ddr need 2?

thanks in advance for you time

dual ddr needs 2 sticks
you will have to overclock (to 166mhz FSB) to get the most out of that ram
and your board can do more than pc2100, that's what it's OFFICIALLY rated at, but they all do more
the pc2100, frankly, is all you need, get 2x256 mb XMS2100LL
2700 will yield no benefit (it may in fact hurt performance because you'll be running out of sync, UNLESS you overclock)

you need 2 sticks (banks 1 and 3) for the dual ddr to take effect
1 stick in the 1st bank will run single channel just like any board

Please, how do i know my pc is running in dual ddr mode.
I'm using Asus P4G8X with 2X Corsair 512Mb XMS3200cl2 on banks 1 and 3.
Is there anywhere it will show "Dual mode" or something, maybe in bios...
Please help, i really need to know..
Thanks for all your reply...

If you love something set it free, if it doesn't come back, hunt it down and kill it !!!
