Service in Dunedin Fl (including N Clearwater and S Palm Harbor) has be
under 10% of normal since 30March05. Sprint folks cant help explain issue.
Online tool to view tower performance rates is down for all Tampa area
towers (perhaps all FL or national a well) Tool is apparently not available
to customers.
Power levels look good (3bars) but outgoing calls are silent for about 45
sec and then a no-serv-available message is displayed (set to Sprint only).
is effecting all sprint phones in the area. Drive to next tower area and it
works ok.
anyone know the URL for the tower service tool?
anyone else having same problem in same area?
Cust service calls routinely drop as soon as asking for representative. Have
only gotten through twice in 4 days from land-line.

I'm not far away, Town and Country area of Hillsborough County 33615 zip and
I can't reliably make a call from my home. I'm having the exact problem
that you have but my problem started around 6 months ago with rare
occasional dropped calls. Over the last month I can't talk for more than 10
to 15 minutes at a time. Nights and weekends are a joke. I've opened up 4
trouble tickets with Sprint and nothing has happened to improve service. I
can drive a mile away from my house and everything is fine.
I've always gotten to talk to a service representative every time I have
called, just can't do it from my cellphone.

I got an email from customer service
they stated they have had a recent "major problem" in the "Tampa area"
But at least is sounds as if they are getting to work on it. who knows?
I'm thinking they use some load balancing software that give a priority to
those newest to the cell thus allowing things to work better when moving
around. I think I can improve my ability to connect outgoing if I turn the
phone off then back on after a few minutes. Thus getting it to consistently
work while at home is the problem. tbd

I wish you luck, I've just about given up on them. My last trouble ticket
was entered at 5:30PM on 3/28, got a msg back from someone at sprint at
6:30PM on the same day that stated that I live in a area of known problems
and they weren't going to do anything about it. Now I live in a known
problem area even though my phone has worked flawlessly for the last 5
years.
