I would like to know when you purchase a new phone from sprint using the
150.00 instant rebate( ex.purchased the mm7400 which was 349.00 and
received the rebate paid 200.00 for phone and then had to turn in my old
phone).Should I not get some type of credit for my old phone . Why should
customers have to give up their old phones .

They gave me an instant $50.00 rebate for my phone. I didn't have to
turn it in and I have leaned now..that I should have sold it on ebay (
I would have gotten a lot more $) but I didn't know people even sold
their old phones.
The 50.00 was taken off my next months bill.
I bought the MM7400 too and I ~heart~ my MM7400. I am obsessed with
this phone..it is so much fun to use all of its features

Why should customers have to give up their old phones .
I bought a new MM7400 at the local Sprint store before Christmas, and I
didn't have to turn in the old phone to get the instant $150 rebate.
Neither did my wife with her 8200. They told me that certain models were
elgible for an additional $50 rebate if you turned them in, but we didn't
have one of the elgible models.

You should not have turned it in unless you knew you were getting
something in return. The instant rebate does not require that you turn
in your old phone. Chances are, if they didn't give you anything for
it, they threw it in the trash OR you just gave them a freebie that they
can clean up and sell as a refurb/clearance phone.
In any case, even if they did offer you soemthing, it was probably not
nerly what you could have gotten on eBay. Always try selling your old
phone on eBay; you'll almost always get better results. Getting a
credit for a turned in phone is only recommended if you don't feel like
dealing with eBay.

Well I called the Sprint NO Customer Service (haha) thats what They are
cause they never no anything , anyway they said they were not aware of the
stores requesting your old phones and to go back to the store and ask them
..I went to the store and they told me that they were bought by some other
company which I have not heard of nor has anyone else and that is their
policy . I also said that I bought my phone 4/1/05 paid 200 and my friend
paid 150 a week later they said that the new company changed the rules and
all you would have to pay is the selling price what new customers pay. Boy
they lie soo much I think they just made up something .
Anyways thanks for the feedback . I still love my phone and dont mind that
I paid a few extra bucks but I hate that I gave up my old phone and in the
future I will not give up something for nothing especially when I bought it
which I always end up doing because for some reasons I like the higher
priced gadgets ....

Are you purposely trying to post this gibberish to try to be cute, or are
you showing off a 2nd grade education?
Sprint PCS has not been bought out, and no rules have changed ...

Well after calling the 800 number, and emailing SPRINT customer service I
got the same answer go back to the store, and today I went back again and
talked to another rep. that had some sense . He told me that they do
require phones to be turned in at their store and its part of their giving
you a rebate .He then took my number and looked up my account and saw My
recent purchase, and said that I was overcharged $50 because the phone was
$349-150 and although the listing price on the tag said $149 the girl I was
dealing with told me that was for new customers and not established ones
which I argued too but still made my purchase. Well I now feel alittle
better and I hope some people at that store get some retraining ....
And to BOB after reading thru several threads throughout this forum I've
seen your name a few times and see that you are a very negative person and
like I stated before and Idiot ...I have no more replies to you Get a Life

Sorry, but I've been to stores in two different regions of the country,
one a corporate region (NY/NJ) and one an affiliate region (west Texas).
Neither have required that old phones be turned in during a handset
upgrade with rebate.
If the stores in your area are collecting phones, then you need to avoid
those stores. I would instead buy from a Best Buy chain, or a
RadioShack, or online, so that you could have kept the old phone and
perhaps sold it on eBay to recover even more cash from it.
For all intents and purposes, you are eligible for a rebate because the
subsidy on your old phone has long been paid for. If the subsidy is
paid for, there's no legitimate reason for a Sprint store to demand the
phone back. If you've lived out the contract, then the phone is YOURS.

At least you got $50 back, but there's still something shady going on
there. Currently no Sprint store I know of will take an old phone back
even if it's offered to them, unless it's either a warranty exchange or
a donation to the dometic violence drop box that some stores have.

Oh THAT's mature. Now I wish I hadn't spent so much time on this reply.
