Seems strange that they give federal government employees only
a 5% discount while lesser government entities get 15%.

It is actually available in the stores. I learned about it and went to a store.

I just tried it. Apparently some states and universities have different
agreements than others, and not all of them are covered. I found out
that the State of New Jersey, for example, has a 14% discount for its
state employees, not 15%.

Also, very important: your billing cycle will change to match that of
the employer's billing cycle. Evidently this is necessary to make sure
you get the same level of discount.

Lastly: you CAN get the discount by calling *2, but once you mention the
discount, they will transfer you to the business accounts department.

Yes. It's called the "Nationwide Volume Pricing" or NVP program. And
it's individually negotiated by the organizations in question. The
amount of the discount depends on the number of employees who sign up
for Sprint *and* the discount. At the very beginning of service, a
company can even "promise" that a certain number of employees will sign
up by some agreed upon date, and that promise dictates the discount
amount.

Yup. The accounts are joined together in a special relationship that
lets you keep control of yours, while still hooking you up for the
discount.

Business Services, if the number hasn't changed, can be accessed toll
free at 888-788-4727. Tell them what you want to do, and they'll get it
setup for you. Before I left, I could do one of these in about 3
minutes.

No problem Rob, the info was very useful and the thread wasn't THAT old. :)
