Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8mb HD FAILED 2nd Week

My Brand New Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 8mb 80gig Hard drive, failed me on exactly the 14th day after I bought it. Fortunally my important data is on my trusty IBM 120Gxp. I installed it formatted it and exactly 14 days after, it won't even boot. I'm trying to reformat it, and it just stops at 65%. Should have gone with the WD Special Edition instead.


Is there anyway I can create a boot CD or something to get some data off the dead drive?

Try the Diagnostic on the site or on the disk provided. Or try to format with something other then windows or ms-dos Format process.
