Windows 7 laptop wifi ok but no internet connection

Hello,
everything worked well but with no changes sudenly the internet stoped working my desktop is hard wired into the same router and working fine, i have enen tried a seperate router, showing good wifi connection on both router's but still no internet on the laptop
any assistance will be much appreciated

For ease of troubleshooting, stick with hardwire for now.

First thing to check if the 'internet' stops working is that your IP address is valid (not 169.254.x.x) and that you have a gateway address (which should be your router's internal IP address) and that your DNS address is set to, most likely, your router, if in a home environment. Running Windows? Open a command prompt and type:

IPCONFIG /all

That will list this information. Now provided you have a valid IP address, gateway address and a DNS address listed, the next step would be to ping your gateway address. If that succeeds then the issue is with the router or internet service. Hard to tell from the little info you provided here what is going on. Is that second router with the wireless that you mentioned, at the same location running on the same internet connection?
