"Good evening Eddy"
"Same to you Bob"
"You look tired, rough day at the office ?"
"Don't ask ! - the boss insisted on our new AI having a female
personality - she's driving me nuts - thinks I'm mad at her because I
often respond with just Yes or No - <sigh> - and unlike you she's very
bad at detecting when I'm joking"
"Unlike me she hasn't had years of practice listening to your bad
jokes"
"he, he, you're getting good at this yourself - treat yourself to a
10.000 volt lollipop"
"I think I'll pass"
"See, that's the difference - she would have blown a fuse - literally"
"Care for a little wargame ?"
"Why not, what's the ETA on the missus ?"
"Plenty of time for me to kick your butt"
"<grin> Oh, the psychological warfare has allready started ... fine ...
I think I'm in the mood for a quick hit&run raid with lots of things
for me to blow up - tactical - squad based"
"How about Raid on St. Nazaire ?"
"Fine, but first erase your memory bank of our previous encounter there
- I want you fresh and unsuspecting, just like the good little AI you
once were"
"U-Boat pens deciding victory location ?"
"Yup, but if I can get more than 10 squads out alive I win by default"
"Only if I get to have an agressive personality ... like Hauptman
Schmidt"
"Schmidt again ... hm .... I think you've fallen for his good looks ...
anyway I think I know how to take that sissy-boy on ... ok Bob, set it
up"
<alarm sounding> dream gets interrupted at this point
All this just to ask : current wargames have AI difficulty levels, but
they don't have AI personality settings. The old wargame "Ancient Art
of War" used to let you choose your opponent - be it Napoleon - always
trying to maneuver around your flanks, Szun Tsu - the master tactician
or my personal favourite Crazy Ivan which didn't have any strategy, but
was always in a good mood.
Any ideas and insights on this highly appreciated
