Is there any performance or quality degradation for a webcam plugged into a non-powered USB hub, compared to connecting it directly to the USB port? Just wondering. Thanks.

No, I don't think there should be any performance degradation, only if you plugged a few things into the USB hub, then I think bandwidth would be a problem. But no, I don't think so.
