Hello! I am building a new system based around the A7N8X and an XP2200. I am wondering which type of RAM to buy for performance. In your opinion would it be better to buy DDR266, since it would run in sync with CPU? or buy the DDR333 and run it out of sync? or can I set the memory speed on the board and run the 333 at 266 for now?

Thanks in advance!

Personally I would get the 333 since it's not that much more expensive so that you have the possibility of upgrading to a fsb333 cpu in the future..

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

* It may be better to get a 2400+ - the price for it has recently dropped.

* You can set the memory speed on the board and run the 333 at 266.

* Also take a look at Epox 8RDA+ - includes nVidia Audio. Very good overclocker.

buy DDR333 with CL2, otherwise, if you buy DDR333 with CL2.5, you could choose to set it to DDR266 and run at CL2, like what I did, it gives a better performance

Do you have any benchmarks before and after?

I use 3Dmark to test it
with DDR266@2/2/2/5, I got ~9000
with DDR333@2.5/3/3/6, I got ~8900
it gives a better performance? I guess so
