Number keypad not working on samsung laptop

Hello, the number keypad on the right hand side of my samsung laptop isn't working. have tried the numlock but doesn't help. Keypad along the top is working fine. Thanks

try this test. boot off of an Ubuntu or Fedora LiveCD. once the desktop is booted open up the calculator or terminal and try typing on your keypad. if it works you know that it is some problem or setting within windows. If it still does not work then you know it is a hardware problem with the laptop.
