I have a 480 True Blue and it is so quiet I cant even hear it over my watercooling fan. And Antec have a habit of always underrating their PSU`s too. I would vote for it. Dont know about the Vantec. Havnt tried one.

I haver the same power supply, and hes right...it makes so little noise that you can here every thing else over it. Also, the blue light is kinda cool...High quality stuff...

Thanks for your input guys. Looks like I'm gona go with the Antec... its a bit cheaper anyway, and I've always liked purdy lil lights! Should go nicely with the nice new beast that I'm building... drool...
I doubt that other Antecs are overrated because I found that a 300W Smart Power exceeded its ratings by at least 10% (was not tested beyond that), although I didn't test every combination of maximum current. Channel Well makes Antecs, and Tom found that a 300W model exceeded its power rating by a whopping 2%, compared to about 30% for a True Power.
Vantecs aren't particularly quiet, and one reviewer damaged a > 400W model by accidentally shorting it, despite Vantec's claim of protection against that.
I love to burst your bubble on this, I've been unable to use any of my Antec 250W (the most common size in OEM systems) power supplies on anything faster than a Pentium 1 system because they drop voltage at anything higher than about 2/3 rating under constant load.

While that may be true, I believe all the Antecs that they are referring to are all the TruePower series, which you have admitted numerous times that you have no experience with. I know very few people when looking to buy an aftermarket PSU even consider buying an Antec thats NOT a TruePower.
