new gamepad

I am in need of buying a gamepad. Is the logitech dual action gamepad worth buying? I have heard mixed reviews on how bad it is and how good it is. What are some good gamepads that have dual analog sticks and work for games such as Madden 2005?

I've had my logitech for a couple months and it's already crapped out on me. I'm not the only one. Many people are having problems with the left analog stick. All the patching and re-installing doesn't help either. Here is an NBA Live 2004 forum thread regarding this issue and the frustration dealing with it:

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the Playstation 2 to USB converter.

Just as a follow-up:

I bought the adapter and Playstation gamepad and it works just fine. Simple to install.
