I was wondering if anybody knew of a 36pin (floppy) to 40 pin (ide) conveter cable that was avaible? My connector on the mobo quit working. Its an old system, and if I can get it working for 10 bucks, why not...

you won't likely run a floppy on an IDE cable... They have totally different communications standards.

Are you sure it's the motherboard and not the Drive or the cable?
Try replacing the cable and see if it comes to life...
Try it with a different floppy drive and see if that works...

Did it really simply "quit" working, or did you change a cable or drive before it "quit"? Does the floppy drive light flash when you start the computer? Does it stay on?

I agree with Teq, a floppy (unless and IDE zip-drive) will not work on an IDE channel. And if not seems to fix it then you might want to look for a cheap PCI or ISA controller card that also has a FD connector on it.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on
