Unsecure internet

Hello,
I reset my linksys yesterday and I need to connect to the 192.168.1.1 to get to the setting to secure my network....is it because I am on wirelessly?

Always use a wired connection when configuring your router. Once you plug in and make the changes, then you can go wireless again.
