I can't find any info on wiring a normals out patchbay so I get a
half-normalled configuration. It's an ADC normalled out to the QCP
punchblock, so all I need is a clue how to half-normal it.

A lot of patchbays that aren't specifically designed for audio
applications (we're about the only ones who use half-normalling) have
the normalling contacts on the jacks "hard wired" with a metal jumper
that's part of the contact assembly. You really can't change this.
I've tried sawing them apart but that's not very successful.
If the patchbay jacks have wire jumpers soldered or wire-wrapped
between the top and bottom jacks, you can probably rewire them.
Otherwise, you'll need to live with full-normalling or get a different
patchbay.

Certain ADC's come un-normalled, some are normalled, certain ones come half
normalled. I don't know if it is even possible to change a full normal to a
half normal. To change an un-normalled to normalled you just punch across
on the back. I've done that. I'd do some serious looking on the ADC web
site or catalogs. You may be stuck. Neutrix makes a 48 pt 1/4" TRS on
front and back that can be half normalled for under $100 at Full Discount.
