Hi,

Warship Combat : Dreadnoughts and Battleships is the new announcement
from NWS (Naval Warfare Simulations)

Turn-based tactical naval wargame covering 1890-1950

Available : Q4 2005 - demo is announced

Where it gets confusing is that there's another game in the works over
there called "Navies at War" and is about ... tactical naval combat
1890-1950

I'm sure Christopher Dean will shed some light on this confusion tale

WCDB is the "Gold Version" that merges their existing WW1 and WW2
warship combat games into one big game.

NAW is the completely new game.

"The media's breathless tabulation of casualties in Iraq - now, over
1,800 deaths - is generally devoid of context. Here's some context:
between 1983 and 1996, 18,006 American military personnel died
accidentally in the service of their country. That death rate of 1,286
per year exceeds the rate of combat deaths in Iraq by a ratio of nearly
two to one."

WCDB is more then just a "gold" version of the original WCS (Warship
Combat Series). Its a massive upgrade that will allow for even larger
battles, more tactical maneuvering options, ammo selections, system and
fire damage modeling, multiple division command (WCS only had screen
and battleline), ROF options, levels of illumination during night
engagements, and much more.

WCDB will cover the same time frames as our Navies at War (1890-1950).
However, WCDB is a turn based naval wargame whereas NAW is a real time
simulator with the ability to pause for giving orders. WCDB will also
be compatible with our Thunder at Sea Campaign Simulator which will
handle CVs, A/C, and subs.

WCDB also works great as a surface combat resolution system for board
games and miniatures rules as it only takes seconds to setup a battle
using the built in scenario editor.

WCDB is available for preorder at $29.99 and the estimated release date
is Q4 2005.
