Hello All:
Thought I'd come here for help. I have a Sprint account with three phones.
One phone number in particular keeps getting automated faxes from three
specific fax numbers:
305 328-5630
305 328-5621
305 328-5622
It is quite obvious these are faxes that are spammed to fax machines. I
called Sprint to try to get these numbers blocked, they say they can't do
that. I asked if I could get the phone number changed to a "new" phone
number that has not been used by a previous Sprint Customer, they say they
can't do that.
What is the next action I can take?
Any help appreciated, I know you folks have gone through this yourselves, so
why reinvent the wheel?

Contact the people that are sending the faxes and tell them to stop. Sprint
should be able to obtain their identity. The automated faxes are illegal.

I had that happen to my telephone line, and there was no damn number in the
caller ID. It stopped after a month.
In using a reverse directory and plugging in one of the numbers, the
following text shows up - The phone number "(305) 328-5630" is a Perrine,
FL based phone number and the registered carrier is Xo Florida, Inc.
However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a
new service provider other than the registered carrier. In doing a search on
XO, I came across their home page - http://www.nextlink.com/index.php .
Maybe you can search through that site to contact TPTB to make those calls
stop.

Not to be a spoilsport, but considering that unsolicited faxes are
already illegal, I have my doubts that these guys will abide by the Do
Not Call list.

I had this issue once, one number...lots of fax attempts...gave the fax
number a return fax asking them to quit. When they didn't, I sent them the
entire contents of my hard drive, code and all via my fax modem until their
machine cut me off (probably out of paper and memory too). I started off
with 100 cover pages asking them to stop calling my cell phone and then the
rest of the garbage. You know, I never got another fax call from them
again. And on my home service, it didn't cost me a dime more to let my
computer run through the night.
