i am buying a new laptop but my WiFi router is downstairs and it is pretty slow when i am up stairs so i was thinking about buying another WiFi router and putting it in my room and also getting a Ethernet cable and attaching it to the laptop sometimes. so my question is can i have two WiFi routers in the same house connected up to the same WiFi?

Attach one of the wifi routers with an LAN to LAN connection to the primary router and set the second router as an AP by turning off the DHCP service, using a different radio channel, the same security type and password. The SSID is up to you, I use the same one so I have a seamless connection, but some like knowing which wireless radio they are using.
