Broadband sharing on BT

Hi there,

We have a BT Broadband connection at home on the main PC. It is connected
via the phoneline to an adsl modem and then into the computer through the
USB port on the computer. The question of the day is how do I connect a
laptop with USB and Ethernet to the internet connection via a modem?

I am used to the idea of a cable modem going through a router and then into
the ethernet port on the computer but is a similar thing possible with an
adsl modem attached via USB? In other words, are there routers that allow a
modem to plug into them via USB and then have an ethernet output?

Another question is can I get a wireless router to do the same thing?

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

Hi there,

Just to say I found the BT Broadband website extremely helpful for this and
have sorted it all. So please ignore my email.

Thanks,

Jeremy
