Should I go with the Sound Blast Audigy 2 OEM($78)? Or are other companies just as good? I want one with the quality of an Audigy two but cheaper. Am I hoping for the impossible?

No cheaper card will quite reach the sound quality of an Audigy2. Revolution 7.1 by M-Audio is a bit higher in price but better in terms of pure analog sound quality. Audigy2 is the starting point (both in terms of price and audio quality) of 24-bit/96KHz cards out there.
