For years I had a single line F&C plan with a wireless web add-on.
($29.95 + $5). No problem. I understood it and it worked flawlessley for
years, never any extra charges other than the monthly $5.

I changed plans 3 months ago, adding 2 family members to my account and
selecting the F&F for families, but keeping the $5 wireless web for my
line only.

Previous to the plan change, wireless web usage was docked out of my
airtime minutes just like a voice call, i.e., during the day it came out
of anytime minutes, at night out of the n&w minutes.

After changing to the F&F for families, my daytime wireless web minutes
keep getting billed as:
Additional Usage Charges:
PCS Wireless Web Charges For Extra Minutes Used 26.0 Minutes $ 10.40

Each month I have to duke it out with customer service. They come up with
lots of resons for defending what is on the screen, like "you must have
gone over your plan minutes" (actually I used less then half), or
"the monthly wireless web charge does not include daytime" (it did for the
last 3 years), or "you have in incompatible plan for wireless web" (Sprint
Store rep who set up my family plan said everything would work as before
as far as wireless web).

Each month they end up giving me a credit for the additional charges and
promising to troubleshoot the billing, but each month it comes up the same.

Anybody have any ideas as to the whys on this one, or what I can do to
get them to finally fix it?

Thanks,
DB

It does sound like an incompatible option for the new F & F plan. I'm
surprised that the store rep was able to add the WW option to your F & F
plan. WW was an option for the older plans and older 2G data capable phones.

Other than the plan change, did you also upgrade to a new phone? Which phone
model are you on now to access the WW?

I use a Samsung SCH-3500 and did not get a new phone. It's an oldie, but
it's the one I like and want to keep till it flames out.

Keeping the wireless web addon was a condition of mine for the plan
change. Do you think there will be a glorious exception just for me?
lol. I can still go see the rep who set it up. If I can't have the WW,
the plan is not good for me. As it's been over 3 months I guess I'm
locked in, but it it really isn't an option anymore, they need to make a
concession to me for mucking things up as I changed my service on faulty
information.

That rep effortlessly added the WW to my F&F Family plan and assured me it
would work as it always had. grrrrr!

The old $5 Wireless Web plan is no longer available. People who still have
it are able to keep it at this point, but anyone else wanting to use WW will
only have the .39/minute casual usage option. Without seeing the poster's
account, I suspect that when he changed plans to Fair and Flexible, the
original WW plan had to be removed because it wasn't compatible, and then
the correct plan couldn't be added because it no longer exsisted. If that's
the case, it should have been explained at the time, so the poster could
decide if he still wanted to change plans. Leaving the old code on in that
case isn't an option; if it's incompatible, the system will error out and
will not allow the plan change, and there's way to override that.

I don't think so. If you want to continue with the ww option on your
account, you will have to contact cs each and very month for a credit.

When you go see him, take a copy of your most recent bill, and tell him that
you have had to call CS every month for a credit.

As for making a concession to you, maybe ... and maybe not. It all depends
on how long a customer you've been with them, and how much your current plan
is now with SPCS.

The 3500 was a great phone! If you need any batteries or chargers,
write me (remove the X's) - I still have several, and even some phones,
in various conditions.

Anyway, when I was still on a WW phone (A460) and I wanted to swap my
wife's 3500 for a Sanyo 8100, I was told that I could only have a Vision
phone as a secondary phone if the primary phone (mine) was also a Vision
phone. So I switched phones too (to a VGA1000 at the time).

Thank you Frank (and to everyone who has responded).

Yeah, I'm going to hit the Sprint Store this week and see what they do.
The rep who set this up (WW on F&FF) seemed to be a total whiz, and I was
very impressed with her. I'll hope she knows how to fix it, or will give
me a good deal on an alternative if it turns out she messed up.

If she can't fix it, I'm hoping for a deal on a Vision phone with no
contract extension, since I'm already in for 2 years for setting up the
F&FF. If they will do more, all the better. I checked and I haven't hit
90 days since the plan change (thought I had), so it seems they have
plenty of room to work with things.

I'll miss the SCH-3500 if I have to get a new phone. I'd just bought a
slightly pricey battery for it, and I think I'll mention that in the
store. They battery was extremely long life. That old phone would run 5
days on it with good talk time.
