Hi, I have an (hp pro 3010 mt E7500) desktop, it has two display ports on the motherboard; AVG and DVI but I have failed to use the DVI port, I bought the adaptor to convert from DVI to VGA but my monitor displays totally nothing when I make the connection.
I'm assuming that DVI is in some way better than VGA. Please help

Are you trying to use two monitors or just one? Your motherboard only supports one monitor.

Connecting a VGA monitor to a DVI port with an adapter does not increase the quality. Simply plug it into the VGA port.

Have you enabled it in your display settings?
Right click on your desktop -> Screen Resolution

If it has seen your second screen you will see two screens on the window and have a "Multiple Displays" option, select Extend these displays

I've tried connecting it (DVI-D port) to a single monitor & to two monitors, both attempts failed though I enable 2-monitor display in my settings.
Do you mean I can never use the DVI-D port? and why then did the manufacture put two ports the motherboard supports only one monitor? Please respond.
