Hi, I use my PC for MP3 DJ'ing, playing games and MP3 playback, I dont watch any DVD's on my PC. I currently have a Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo with Soundstorm and a SB Live which I just use for DJ monitoring with headphones, and a cheap pair of speakers.

I've read the previous posts about SoundStorm vs Audigy2, but I'm still undecided.

For the same money I could use the SoundStorm and buy a set of Megaworks 5.1 550s, or buy a Audigy2 and Inspire 6.1 speakers. I also play a lot of games and it seems that the Audigy2 has better support for games with EAX Advanced HD.

I need precise sound for mixing, which both cards should be fine for, but which would be the best speaker/sound combo?

Also whats the games support for the Soundstorm like?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Nick

If you need precise mixing, then no mainstream card will be good for you. You'll need something higher end, such as Terratec or M-Audio, or Audiotrak. They are somewhat affordable.

However, unless you spend money they won't have the DSP effects like EAX.

Really you have to go with one or the other.

The best speaker/sound combo? Guillemot is really good as well. They have shocked me with their quality, and at what price they offer it.

If you want to save money though, stay with what you have already.
