I have a SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick with
gameport connection running with the Windows XP
controller. In MS Flight Sim 2000 there are two problems.
(1)Force feedback occasionally goes ape and drives the
joystick all over unless sensitivity is set to minimum.
This doesn't seem right. Recalibration doesn't help. (2)
Elevator trim buttons (Nos. 3 and 4) input excessive
correction with each touch, making them useless. Is there
an adjustment for this?

Does this happen in other games or is Flight Sim all you have to work with?
Not much specifically to go after beyond calibration in the Control Panel,
and verifying it's OK.

Flight Sim is all I have to work with. Must be a
compatibility issue with the XP driver, as it worked fine
with Windows 98. I will have to learn to live with it.
Thanks.

It ultimately will work different with the different OS's, especially on the
gameport. Longer term when the time does come, you do want to move to USB.

Flight Sim 2000 is the only game using the joystick. I've
been told "XP doesn't like gameports." Same joystick
worked fine with Win 98 on another PC. Probably just the
way it is, so will have to live with it. Too bad.
