Interesting to see Bob Lentini being somewhat of a motivating source for
digital automation and control of an analog console. I remember talking to
Paul Wolfe of API about incorporating digital control over his analog
systems, but he didn't think much of it. I wonder what he thinks about it
now.

I saw Jim Gamble at his booth at the AES show last Fall. He was
standing in front of a computer screen. I asked him if that was
today's Gamble console and he said "Yup. No need to carry those big
things around any more."
Gamble consoles were right up there with Midas in their day. The one
you had on your tour depended on what kind of console snob you were.

He's still not doing digital control, but his new product line is
definitely oriented to the control room with a computer instead of a
recorder and a console.

I spoke with him there as well--hadn't seen him in maybe 15 years.

And both caused similar herniation of the loadin crew.
