I currently approx. $140 month for:

3 lines
2300 anythime (300 are bonus mins they gave me a long time ago)
2500 n/w mins
pcs2pcs
america no roaming
8pm n/w
insurance on 2 phones
roadside assistance on 1 phone
vision on all 3

this was supposedly a retention plan about 3 years ago.

i am only using around 800 anytime mins now.

i hate to go through the 'retention' gag and pretend i'm gonna cancel
service. that used to work a couple of years ago but they are wise to
people who ask for retention when the average consumer on the street would
normally have no idea what retention is.

so what is the best plan anyone has gotten that would fall in line with what
i have above but with less mins.? i was quoted today the fair and flexible
family plan (or whatever it's called)... for 800 mins and everything I have
now is about $19 cheaper. that's not worth it to change even though i don't
need the mins.

i'm not in contract right now. i have been a pcs customer since '97. they
have never given me a 'free' phone but i have received $100 credit for
renewing my contract a couple of times. i only renew for a year when i do
typically.

any suggestions?

Wow.... I have 5 phones on the fair and flexible plan.
We typically use between 700 and 800 billable minutes, so with Vision on
3 of the phones, insurance, and 7pm nights ($5) my monthly is around
$110 total.

Biggest plus is 90% of my calls are to SPCS phones, so with the above (2
yr agreement) having free PCS-PCS my cost is kept way down and I am
using the phone more and more.

I also have a phone with a Pioneer Plan that it still active - having
been with SPCS since their launch in San Diego (1996?).

You don't choose a specific Fair and Flexible Plan.
You pay $70 / mo for up to 800 shared billable minutes.
If you go over 800, it costs you an extra $5 for another block of 100
minutes.

Even with the 5 phones, I have yet to have more than one month where we
used over 800 regular minutes and got charged an extra $5. Plus I
switched from a $100/mo plan with 2000 minutes, so in very short time I
am saving money.

Yes, you do, you choose Fair and Flexible with X base minutes.

You can choose between the 800 minutes for $70 with $5 per 100 minutes
up to 1200 minutes and $10 per 200 minutes up to 2000 minutes with $.05
per minute thereafter,
and the 2500 minutes for $115 with $10 per 200 minutes up to
3500 and $.05 per minute thereafter.
