SATA + UATA

Help I'm about to part with hard earned cash, if anyone has any advice on the following - it would be much appreciated:

Can I run both an EIDE channel (off the mainboard) and a SATA channel off an interface card at the same time or do I have to have one or the other at any given time.

I have an ultra ata mainboard with 3 EIDE drives attached and a DVD ROM drive, and I would like to get a SATA 150 drive to be attached with probably a promise SATA controller card.

you can run all at the same time. your bus is prolly limited at 133MB/s. but no hard drive can even get close to it so you be ok.
