Hey all,
So this is our first real attempt at recording. We did it ourselves
because all the small studios said our music sounded weird and we did
not have faith in an engineer who described us as weird. We play very
straightforward pop/rock with some synth.

Because some people might be interested:
We used a m-audio 410 interface into a Toshiba laptop running Sonar 4.
The guitars were DI with a fun chain of a moogerfooger, a custom
shinei-fuzzwah and a podxt. The synths were Reason 3 and an Akai Z4.
The drums, I'm afraid to say, are the new Reason drum refill pack. Our
drummer sequenced them but we just don't have the mics for recording a
set just now.

The last verse has a timing issue that we are very aware of and will
fix. Any reviews, thoughts comments concerning the recording and the
overall song are very much appreciated.
Thanks

My opinion...The small studios were right. I guess if the guitars were mixed
back some (a good deal) and real drums were on it, you might find some
"square peg" types that might find your stuff interesting.

To me--and this is opinion--music has to have a soul to it, or it's a waste
of time. You sound like a Devo redux. Now, some might like that, I just
don't.

good luck

Hmmmm, I think it's ok as I assume it's meant to be like it is. I find
it kind of groovy and even catchy!
I would say the small studios were wrong and you were right to do it
yourself.

I like it. Exept for maybe the guitar solo<g>
Reminds me of something Little Steven would play on his "underground garage"
show.

I love it. Very "dandy-warholsish"... I would love to hear more.

Good first attempt at recording. Work on the melody a bit more and
change things up some. Sounds a bit like you are on a tread mill.

It's true that a lot of the emotion seems to have ben left out. Live
this song has a pretty different feel. Thanks for the review though.
Live drums would have been nice.

Kinda reminds me of the Electric Prunes. Weird? I don't think so. Needs
to be practiced more so that every part has been made the player's part, but
it's not weird.
