Hi all!
I have a question regarding my sound card: whenever the hard disk is writing moderately (for instance when installing an application), if I'm listening to mp3 at the same time the sound is heavily distorted. I have a sound blaster live! value, my hard disk is a maxtor 7200 rpm, my system is AMD Athlon XP1700+, 512 ddr ram. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

When you're installing an application, you really shouldn't be listening to MP3s, most application installs even advise you to close all open windows before installing the software, obviously with soundcard distortion, you're overloading your CPU and RAM handling capabilities, and may end up with corrupted files and trouble, but hey, its your computer.
