Audigy 2 CPU usage

I am wondering if my sound card is slowing down my system.
I am getting in the 10 percent range for all tests in audio winbench99.

System
Intel P4 3.06
Asus P4G8X
1 gig ram
120 mgs ram
ATI 9700 pro
audigy 2 card in unshared irq pci slot (#4)
latest drivers etc.
no background stuff running

Yes it is.

However, compared to what? If you compare to no sound, then yes; audio processing can't be done entirely on the card yet (at least not in the price range I know about). If you're asking whether you could get better performance out of another audio solution, I'd say no. Only the nForce2 Soundstorm audio system has lower utilization than the Audigy2 (to the best of my knowledge) and you're running a faster machine right now than any AMD system I've seen, so that'd be a huge waste of money for a few percentage improvement in your sound utilization.
