I picked up one of these off Ebay for under $300 to use as a brick wall
limiter on final transfer to CD master.
So far, I haven't had much luck using it without hearing it. The LEDS
throw me off also. I can't get them up where I can see them without
the thing pumping and not so pleasant results.
The 720 is to catch those occasional transients that weren't caught by
the RNC or Trakker and keep them under the limit set. Given that a
Trakker can react pretty fast, there may not be much left for the 720
to catch depending on Attack times used. One can get an aggressive
sound with the 720 which some might find useful for some genres of
music and voice. It can degrade classical & jazz styles if used more
than to limit the occasional transient in those genres, in my opinion.
