switching phone plans

Anybody else here remember when you use to be able to switch your call plan
back and forth in case something came up where you needed more or less
minutes? I think t-mobile is the only one that lets you do that and not have
to resign a stinkin contract, sometimes I miss the days when their wasn't as
much bullshit to put up with from carriers.
