I have been trying to install XP Pro on my new computer, but when ever it gets done, it says there are errors and windows needs to shut down [its a blue screen] it lists the files that have erors
then when i reboot it says something about ntfs.sys and thats it, ive tryed reformatting and reinstalling, any ideas?
its on a fresh ntfs partition..
i was unable to install win98 with the same type of crashes, i have only been able to install NT on it

and what might these errors be ? "something about ntfs.sys" isnt really a lot to go on, but it sounds like the ntfs drivers which are loaded during the initial install are having probs, how are you installing xp ? from a 98 bot disk by anychance?

Is your memory overclocked? I'm asking because I just read this thread about file corruption, and a possible solution.

Perhaps you can check that. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to recommend. Hopefully someone else knows.
