Question about CD & DVD writers.

Whats the cheapest CD & DVD writer available? Preferrably in the US$200 price range if possible.

are you looking for DVD-RW/R or DVD+RW/R?? or DVD +/- RW/R

Well since I'm only thinking of using DVDs as backups, I suppose any will do. Dual DVD format RW/R seems pretty expensive, something at least at the US$300 mark? Too much for me I'm afraid. So I'll just stick with one DVD format for now.

Does each format have a read & write speed advantage over the other?
